Undergraduate Transfer and Vertical Transmission
Undergraduate Transfer is an application that allows students who want to transfer to the same or a different department or to a department in another university within the framework of certain rules after a certain period after being placed in a programme according to the results of the university exam. There are 3 types of horizontal transfer applications. These; inter-institutional transfer and horizontal transfer with central placement exam.
Interinstitutional Undergraduate Transfer: It is the undergraduate transfer made by students from different universities (domestic/foreign). The first requirement for this type of transfer is a high grade point average. In the applications received within the framework of the determined quotas, the grade point average of the students is taken into consideration. Students with the highest GPA are accepted to the extent permitted by the quota. In this respect, GPA is of great importance in this type of undergraduate transfer.
Undergraduate Transfer with Student Placement Examination: It is a type of undergraduate transfer made by students from different universities (domestic). The main determinant of this type of undergraduate transfer is the placement score of the student. If the student's placement score is higher than the score of the same department of the university he / she wants to apply to, he / she can apply. If it is low, it cannot benefit from this type of undergraduate transfer. In the same way, there is the right to transfer within the quotas here.
In-House Undergraduate Transfer: It is a undergraduate transfer between the departments of Bartın University. The student must be successful in all courses of the semesters he / she has completed in the programme he / she is enrolled in and must have a GPA of at least 3.20 out of 4.00. Students whose placement score in the score type valid for the diploma programme that the student wants to transfer as of the year in which the student takes the exam can apply if their placement score is at most 5% lower than the base score of the programme they want to transfer, provided that it is not less than the lowest base score of the diploma programmes of other universities in the country equivalent to the diploma programme they want to transfer. Placement score is also taken into consideration in departments where students are accepted with special talent. Regular education students can transfer to regular education and second education, and second education students can only transfer to second education.
Transfer Time: Students can apply for transfer when they complete their 1st academic year at the earliest. Preparatory year is not counted as the first year, students must complete one year in their departments in order to calculate their grade point average. In associate degree programmes, applications cannot be made for the first semester or the last semester; in undergraduate programmes, applications cannot be made for the first year or the last year.
Vertical Transmission: Vertical transmission is an exam type that students who have successfully completed an associate degree programme or who are candidates for graduation can apply. It can be said that it provides the right to transfer to the undergraduate programme which is accepted as a continuation of the programme. This concept, which is often confused with undergraduate transfer, offers the right of admission from a two-year programme to a four-year programme, not the transition between programmes. The candidate who is eligible for vertical transmission can count the courses he/she has taken and succeeded in associate degree education. Thus, he/she has the chance to start his/her undergraduate education not from the first year but from the third year.
